Kindergarten Challenge: March 6-10

Have you ever heard someone say, "It's raining cats and dogs!"? This is an example of an idiom. An idiom is a saying that means something other than what the words usually mean. For example, when someone says, "It's raining cats and dogs," there aren't actually cats and dogs falling out of the sky! It is just a way of saying that it is raining very, very hard. Click here for some other examples of idioms.

For this week's challenge, choose an idiom (different from the ones you saw by clicking the link above) and draw two illustrations.

For the first illustration, draw what it sounds like the idiom means. For example, if you chose "raining cats and dogs," you would draw cats and dogs falling out of the sky.

For the second illustration, draw what the idiom actually means. For "raining cats and dogs," you could draw a heavy rainstorm.

Have an adult send pictures of your illustrations to acsk2challenge@gmail.com . Don't forget to include the actual idiom you chose to illustrate! For completing the challenge, you will get a certificate, and a lucky winner will get a sweet treat. Good luck!
